Let's start with Athens...

My trip to Greece was incredible! I started by arriving in Athens, spending the night, a whole day of sightseeing, a second night, and another half day of sightseeing/shopping there with my new found friend Sharyn.

Sharyn and I had met via email/online through Cocoa Daisy and we arranged to be roommates and quickly see Athens together. She was so amazing! I seriously would have been lost 10 times without her!

I have friends who have been to Greece before and they advised me to quickly do Athens...so I didn't spend much time there. And, I am very glad for this advice (thank you Lissa)! As beautiful as the ruins are, the city is a busy, dirty, fairly unsafe place. We were constantly warned about pick-pockets, but fortunately we didn't fall victim to them. I was glad to quickly see all the sights and then move on to Mykonos Island on Saturday evening...

Here are some of the beauties of Athens!

Me, tired after climbing the hundreds of steps to the Acropolis.

My friend Sharyn at the top of the Acropolis overlooking the city.

The towers of Zeus - so beautiful!

More areas of the Acropolis...oh, did you know that the Acropolis is actually 3 buildings? Not just one! And, it used to be more, before they are got ruined...I think originally there were 9 buildings.

Looks awesome Erika!! I can hardly wait to hear all about the classes and Karen and Ali!! My friend Yvon, who's traveled the world, says that Athens is the most ugly major city he's ever been too. He's been to Greece a few times and is out of there as fast as possible.
